The Kenya Investment Authority’s (KENINVEST) eRegulations system now attracts more than 10,000 visitors a month. 106,000 investors consulted the site in the first 8 months of 2017 – up from 76,000 for the entire 2016. The figures are expected to continue to rise steadily.
Launched in December 2015, Kenya’s system has become the most visited eRegulations system in Africa, ahead of Tanzania, Cameroon and Mali. Its core feature is a step-by-step guide to investment procedures.
At the root of this success are KENINVEST’s and UNCTAD’s on-going efforts to notify would-be entrepreneurs and investors of government improvements to registration procedures. They also provide information on changes brought to the rules and regulations affecting the investment climate. 105 procedures have now been published on the system. They cover 541 steps, 77 laws and norms, and give access to 1,155 forms and documents.
The system has become the go-to ‘place’ for trusted information on investment procedures in the country.
